SUPERINTENDENT efokirk, ©fela. Jan. 5, 1951 Dear Students: Sach year your annual staff asks me to write a brief mess- age to you. I always have felt a little timid and undecided a- bout what such a message should contain, for your high school annual will mean so very much to you as the years of your Ijves glide along. However, this soring of 1951, I know there is much that should be said and all of it serious. I do not believe high school students have ever before faced the same sort of world that beckons you. You must be sober in thought and careful in faith as you leave your school chores behind you. You must make decisions now that will affect your entire lives. I know, it will be easy to shrug and say, Oh, well, I must go into the Armed Services I But, no matter whe:e you go nor what you do, you and you alone will and must make your de- cisions Choose your faith and lay it deep in the things that are American and Christian. Our way of life is the only way that offers dignity and value to the individual human being. Face life as though your every act and every thought is being weigh- ed to determine if America shall standi !vith faith in God and faith in our country, we shall pre- vail over evil in this world.
