In the year I have been with you I have learned much about you. You are energetic at work and at play. You show initiative at every turn in school activities. You are consci- entious in appointments. In short, you are a remark- able student body. I brought you the challenging philosophy that we should all strive to make the RIGHT thing to do the POPULAR THING to do. Very few of you failed to accept that challenge. A number who forgot the chal- lenge or failed to accept it at first have since fallen into line with the rest of us. The student body alone deserves all the credit for the development of this attitude. School pride, school spirit, school life are made by the young men and women of the school com- munity. I also received a letter and telephone call from Mr. Gilliete. As I explained over the telephone, it is very unfair to try and pick a winner from a photograph. For one reason, the photographs are not uniform. Second, they are mostly a head size close up and in no way show the girl’s figure, stance or poise, so all we really have to go on is a very small photo. However, I have done the very best I could, and I trust it will be to everyone’s satisfaction.
