J)n Yj ]emory .. . Do you wonder why his picture is placed here in the front of our annual? Well, we’ll tell you all about it. On that summer day back in 1946 when they told us of his farm accident, we were shocked and said it couldn’t be true--but it was. We miss him--his modest, quiet, lovable ways--we think the world of him. Since he can’t be here to graduate with us, we want to dedicate our annual to his memory. Senior Class of 194

To the seniors of 1948: Keep faith in yourself without which you cannot hope to succeed. The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today. Keep faith in your fellowman, as society is built on mutual trust. Keep faith in God, without which you cannot live in a real sense of security. The best preparation for life in the hereafter is to live now. Supt. of Schools First Semester Supt. of Schools Second Semester Subscribers of the Gold and Blue: I shall always remember the thrill that came to me the day I met you, the students of Newkirk High School. That thrill has remained with me through the weeks I have been with you. This space you have given me in your 1948 annual is another of the many, many things you have done to make me feel welcome in your school. I sincerely appreciate your attitude toward me, and I look forward to a happy tenure in Newkirk work- ing with you. You are a wonderful student body.
