Last Will and Testimony We, the illustrious Senior Class of Newcomerstown High School, famed far and wide for nonsense and such, fearing that we are not sane in our actions, admitting that our minds are a little unsteady, hereby bequeath all property that we can get our hands on to the underclassmen and faculty of the afore stated high school. Article I—We bequeath to NHS a speedy and complete recovery after our grand departure. Article II—With great appreciation for all patience and endurance that the faculty has given us for the last four years, we wish them continued mercy for the coming classes. Article III—We bequeath to the freshman class, who being the youngest and needing the most help, our ability to talk ourselves out of trouble. Article IV—We bequeath to the sophomore class our wonderful spirit, and our ability to have fun and get along with each other. Article V—We bequeath to the junior class the power to remain out late at night and sleep in class, as long as such conduct is permitted by the instructor. Article VI—To the underclassmen and faculty we bequeath the following: I, Sonny Anderson, will my seat in the first row to anyone whose name begins with an A. I, Tom Atkinson, am too tight to leave anything to anybody. Witnesses: Bob Robinson and Gary Hickman. I, Janet Baker, leave my ability to get out of study hall to my brother Donnie and Judy Lyons. I, Judy Beiter, leave my quiet ways to Nancy Shaffer. (She really needs them.) I, Buddy Best, leave my “Cry Baby” award in football to Doyle Rann. I, Bettie Kaye Bordenkircher, will my bleached blond hair to anyone who can afford a bottle of peroxide every week. (I get mine wholesale.) I, Polly Bowers, will my ability to yell good and loud in Pep Rallies to all the juniors. They need it. I, Larry Carney, leave my seat in physics to anyone who is tired of living. I, Becky Carpenter, leave nothing because if I have anything that is worth leaving I may need it myself later. I, Ronnie Casterline, leave my ability to sleep in study hall to anyone who wants it. I, Bob Craigo, will my selling book to anyone unlucky enough to get it. I, Bonnie Crater, will my binoculars to Hallie Sue Brown when football practice starts. I, Jim Creachbaum, will my pretty hair to Bonnie Myers. I, Carolyn Dansby, leave my ability to get out of school at 2:15 to anyone lucky enough to have a good excuse. I, Janet Davis, will my ability to be excused for the Guernsey County fair each year to any 4-H member from Guernsey. I, John Davis, will my long curly eye lashes to Evelyn Duff. I, Peter Doss, leave my seat in 102 to any junior lucky enough to get it. I, Carolyn Duff, leave my ability to keep a steady boy friend to Evelyn . . .! Make good use of it SIS. I, Melvin Duhamel, will my hub caps on my car to the thieves that steal them. I, Carolyn Dulaney, will my feather to Dave Brown . . . take good care of it. I, Linda Erskine, leave here with a sigh of relief and an empty pocketbook. College here I come. I, Dixie Evans, leave this year knowing that my brother, Jerry, will have to carry his own books home. I, Ruth Ann Favors, will my quietness to Ruth Harris. (Who needs it.) I, Judy Elliot Fairchild, will my ability to get out of classes to anyone who can talk fast and think later. I, Marshall Fisher, will my natural curly hair to Billy Parks. See Billy, you won’t need your “Toni” anymore! I, Marian Gaskill, will my place on the library staff to anyone who enjoys saying, “Get quiet, please!” I, Dean Geese, leave my baritone to Nancy Marlatt and Tommy Seiber. I, Kenny Haas, leave my seat in advanced math to Tom Reppart. I, Leonard Hart, will all my knowledge to anyone that can find it . . . please contact me if found. I, Alice Hazlett, will all the lucky breaks I had in my senior year to Bonnie Moore. May there be many for you, Bonnie! I, Gary Hickman, leave my talents for getting along with the girls to my brother, Don. I, Brenda Hootman, leave good ole NHS for Cleveland in a black ’56 Ford. Good luck Karen and Diane. I, Linda Kissel, will my pony tail to Marianne Hudson. (Get to work, Hudson.) I, Larry Loader, will my seat in American Problems class to Gene “Tilt” Winters. I, Lynda McCants, will my job as student announcer to any junior who can talk loud. I, Nancy McCulley, will my first chair in band to Miriam Craigo, and my Model A to Bill . . . take good care of it, Bill! I, Larry McElhaney, leave my ability to skip fourth period to Doyle Rann. I, Dan McMullen, leave Clarkie still trying to get me to work. I, Garry Marlatt, leave Coach Braun wondering if our system will work at the race track.
