Seniors Class Prophecy BELIEVE IT OR NOT The Dolly Sisters, Gloria Hildebrand and Pat Imhoff, were sitting in their pent- house living room one afternoon in April, 1956, when the manager of the Waldorf, Bill Wingeier, called and asked if they were receiving guests. Why, of course , said Gloria, Never too busy to see one of our fans . There is a Mr. John Carney to see you. Send him up at once. Hay, Pat, John Carney went to school with us, didn't he? Yes, and look at him now, a famous world traveler, Boy, what N.H.S. can do for a person ! Chl There's the bell now. You go, Gloria, I'm too tried and the maid and butler are in another argument about whose going to wash the dishes. The help you get these days is dreadful. As I opened the door, I saw a handsome distinguished looking gentlemen. Why, John Carney how you've grown. Won't you come in? You remember Pat Imhoff don't you? We have loads to ask you, John. Since you've been all over the world, I bet you've seen a lot of the old gang! Yes, I run into some of them all of the time. First, Gloria, tell me, how is your husband? Is he still in the Navy? Oh, yes, Bud is an admiral of the Pacific Fleet now. That's fine! I saw Don Russell, who is married to GladalWhitis, in Venezuela the other day. He's head of the Stone Engineering Company. His best draftsman is Earl Stocker and the chief electrican is Paul Dale Atkinson, whose assistant is Floyd Haines. Jim Walkenspaw and Jack Art are general managers of other divisions. Joe Craigo, you remember him, he married Janie Schwindt in the winter of 50 , is the Commander of the Army Engineers in Peru. Dean Courtright is a mechanical draftsman in the Argentina Division of Heller Brothers. The plane I came to New York in was piloted by Vernon Cramlett and Denver It's one of those three story trans-Atlantic jobs and it sure is sharp! It McMullen. had three hostesses, DeYvonne Peters, Helen Lower, and Lorena Angle. At La- Guardia Field, Francis Aifolter is an instructor for these new one passenger jet pro- pulsion planes, Last summer while I was in Paris I happened to be walking down Rue de Plaza when I saw the DeLong Beauty Salon. I thought the name sounded familiar so I decided to see if it was the same DeLong girl I'd known in school. Sure enough, it was Mary Jane! She had as her assistants, Betty Booth, Edna Casteel, Alverta Maurer, and Charlene Berger. Another N.H.S. friend in Paris, Mrs. Willard Donley CDoris Rennardj, was there on her second honeymoon. She toldl me Donald Schwarm was teaching English at the University of Heidleberg. As I was coming up Fifth Avenue on my way here, Ipassed Saks and remembered that the new manager was Vivian Liggett. One of her clerks is Betty Baker, and her head seamstress is Vera Bourne. Betty Lint is her bookkeeper. Across from Saks is a new French pastry shoppe run by Virginia Angle. Mrs, Robert Silverthorne fRosemary Normany lives in an apartment on 6th Ave- nue. She sent her eldest daughter to Camp Mosquito Bite on Lake George where Celia Hogg is head councelor. Celia is doing very well since thhe best of New York's families send their children there, Mrs. Joe McGinnis fJoanne Sarchetj has just become the proud mother of twins -a boy and a girl. 1 Page Twenty-f our
