MARSHAL S. MACY Principal MRS. MARION TRYON Secretary to the Principal 77 ' Zi As you can see, all of us at Newcastle High School have put special effort into this quinquagesimal issue of the Dogie to make it something a little extra in recognition of the fact that this is the 50th graduating class of Newcastle High School. The pages of this book, both by their number and by their content, bear witness to the fact that Newcastle and its high school have grown quite considerably in that half-century. The first graduating class land incidentally, only two years of high school work were offered to that first groupl had only 11 members while the class of 1955 will have almost 60 members. I hope this issue of the Dogie will be for each of you a symbol of the progress you have been a part of, both in your school and in your community. I hope, too, that you will always remember your school and your teachers with something of the same fondness with which I and your teachers will remember you as students. Sincerely, Marshall S. Macy, Principal

Another year and the beautiful new corral will be open and we hope that the traditions and achievements of our school will grow and be recorded in a whole new herd of Dogies.
