H. A. CHAPTER The Future Homemakers of America is a national organization of girls with a total membership of 344,987 members and 8,265 chapters. F.H.A. contributes to the growth and development of the individual girl as well as to her home and family life. Our chapter consists of 78 members, two chapter mothers: Mrs. Franklin and Mrs. Cummings, two chapter fathers: Mr. Crouch and Mr. Weigher, and our advisor, Mrs. Elma Slenker. New ideas being tried out this year are '4Big Sisters and uChapter Fathers. The g'Big Sistersn were appointed to help the new members become acquainted with F.H.A. and the Chapter Fathers help the chapter mothers and the advisor in chaperoning and advising the girls. Our chapter had the honor of helping to install the new Upton Chapter this year. For our state and national projects this year, we celebrated the aWorld Christmas Festivaln and observed United Nations Day. A gift box was sent to lndia, the country chosen 'this year, and many of the members wore Indian costumes to the World Christmas Festival party. An assembly consisting of a skit, two readings, and a talk on Europe by Mrs. Cleveland was given for the high school in observance of the United Nations Day. Through these and other projects our chapter is evaluated. Everytime a project is completed, a block in an outline of a house is filled in. When the blocks are completely filled, our chapter will be rated an honor chapter. We are happy to have earned an honor chapter this year.
