As a result of doing service projects and presenting programs concerning crucial modern issues, the typical future homemaker learned more about family living than just how to function at the stove and at the Singer. In a word, the FHA'er became aware. And who was to say that the typical future homemaker of America was a female! There were male members as well learning to cope with today's society where roles are reversed so often they have become almost interchangeable. But FHA members were not always so serious.
