Experience Needed After Graduation Was Received in the Classroom and in the Shop. Vocations include many films. Frank shows talent in WWin. Tony Glenn make use of the table saw. Ricky Frankie face problems in WWII Knowledge that is helpful long after leaving New- castle High School was attained by a large number of students in agriculture, woodwork, and vocations class. Students in these classes learn by watching, working, and listening, Mrs. Brush taught a vocations class that proved to be beneficial to almost every student that took the class and Mr. Holman shared the knowledge that he has accumulated with his agriculture students in order to develop skills that could possibly support our nation in future years. Under the direction of Mr. Mobley, our woodwork department has rapidly expanded and high school boys have an even greater opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of an interesting craft. 13 Brian, Jimmie, Mark, and Lonnie, Newcomers in AG.

Typing II is a challenge for Nancy. Bruce enjoys accounting. Virginia acts like shorthand is hard. BUSINESS EDUCATION is one of the most emphasized areas in the Newcastle High School curriculum. Many improvements have been made in the Business department, which has expanded to include an Accounting class as well as first and second year Typing and the recently established Shorthand and General Business classes. Students in these classes take an initial step into the business world and begin building a foundation that may be useful in future years. Typing I is a class in which students learn the basic skills in using a typewriter. This class is useful especially to those who plan to attend college. Most students do not go further than Typing I, but a few dedicated business students work on perfecting their typing skills in Typing II. General Business is a popular class that teaches the basic laws of business. Students enrolled in either of the two General Business classes learn how to manage their own business affairs. A few students who may plan to pursue secretarial work enroll in Shorthand. Before a student completes this course, he is well-trained in taking dictations. In it's first year at Newcastle High School, Accounting has already become a fairly popular class. Students learn to manage large-scale business affairs in this class. Students that wish to receive further vocational training than what is offered here at NHS ride a bus to Mid- America Vo-Tech School. These students receive more advanced education into the vocational field of their choice. Linda and Donna study General Dale does his best in Typing I. Students board the Vo-Tech bus. Business. 12
