Homecoming HOMECOMING. The very saying of the word brings to mind Queen Coronation, float contests, and a spirited football game. The week before Homecom- ing was full of spirit. The pep club sold spirit buttons and Homecoming Mums. The Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes along with some of the organizations were busy all week working on floats. This year was the first year ever to have a float parade. The theme for Homecoming was the 1920's. Seniors came through with the first prize. Juniors came in second and FHA came in third. Halftime came with the moment everyone had been waiting for- Queen Coronation. This year's candidates were Senior Janiece Wallis escorted by Danny Abbott, Junior Debbie Thomas escorted by Vincent McGuire, and Sophomore Becky Paxton escorted by Tommy Young. The crowning of the 1975 Homecoming Queen, Janiece Wallis, was done by the 1974 Queen Candy Davis and Senior Ricky White. Deedee Mobley carried the flowers for the new queen and Craig Cox carried the football helmet. Besides the rain and mud the only discouraging moment of the night was the score. The Racers lost 42-6 to the Blanchard Lions. Blanchard went on to become second in our conference. TOP: Janiece Wallis, Homecoming Queen. The newness wears off as we involve ourselves in a multitude of school activities and we become comfortable in assorted expe- riences . . . The junior class hard at work while the basketball girls get ready for the season . . . the football team always ready to pose for the cameraman . . . the FFA ready to do any work that needs to be done, and the yearbook staff always around . . . the track team winning medals while the FHA girls gajn experience and the cheerleaders give a good yell for the RACERS . . .
