216 Yearbook Staff Despite a series of mishaps, the 78-79 Paw- print was a success. Due to a rather slow start and a relatively inexperienced staff, it was often 1 difficult to meet deadlines. But, there were al- ways diligent workers drawing layouts, writing copy, and taking photographs, until all hours, 1 so that the pages did get sent in. Under the leadership of advisor Giele Maybee and editors Karin Zerda and Debbie Budach, the staff worked together to do its very utmost to made the Pawprint a personal remembrance to each and every student. Although the initial Pawprint sales were lower than expected, the staff was not discouraged and continued to work hard and came up with what they consider, a success . The journalism class, under the direction of advi- sor Karin Levine, was responsible for the distribu- tion of the school newspaper the b Prowler. ub Led by editor Danny Siegel, the group produced eight issues during the year, all of which were exceptional. According to Siegel, the 1979 Prowl- er was probably the best in the school's history, for it displayed great imagination in layout and photographic technique and contained high quality and responsible journalism. Siegel felt that the paper's editorial department was particu- larly outstanding, which he felt separated the Prowler from many other high school publica- tions, The Prowler tackled many controversial is- sues, and also did a bit of investigative reporting which resulted in news and editorial articles. 4 Qs , .ie 'Wi is 218 journalism lim
