.P. GIRLS KNGW THEIR STRCJKES The 1979 Girls Swim Team consisted of 50 girls, 16 of those making up the Varsity squad. Mrs. Sandra Washburn was in her third year as coach of the swim team and expected this to be a growing year for the girls. Several of the girls were expected to do well in CIF. Karen Mont was strong in the breaststroke and Karen Toth was very strong in the 50 yard freestyle, both medley relay teams were strong. 1.Coach Washburn going over some results. 2.ludy Arvay comes up for air. 3.Karen Adams uses her breaststroke to plow through the water. 194 Swimming

DI ERS HELP WIN CIF he Newbury Park diving team consist- ed of only three divers, Russell Martineau, Richard Mantor, Ron jackson all of whom had fine seasons. Russell Martineau led the Panthers this year by setting a CIF re- cord in the preliminaries. Russell might possibly be in the 1980 Olympic Games.
