That's what was heard frequently dur- ing the school year. When the group formed for business meetings, vice president Nina Dillon and Danny Siegel were the main speakers. Anyone who interrupted probably heard Excuse me, but lfm talking. ' A.S.B. formed a new type of govern- ment this year, consisting of three branches, the executive, legislative and non-voting members. The government provided the student body with many great 'activities throughout the school year, some examples were the Fresh- men Orientation, Welcome Dance, lunch concerts, Homecoming and even .entertaining at the various assemblies. Mr. Scott, who experienced his first year as A.S.B. advisor helped the group make the decision to be Doers in- stead of Thinkers

Westlake High School had construction trouble caus- ing a switch to double sessions during the early part of the year. The students of Newbury Park had to adjust to shar- ing their facilities. Though it was difficult to rise so early, getting out of school earlier made it possible for Newbury Park students to enjoy beaches and long afternoons of leisure. INTRODUCTION 13
