162 Cross Country STEW'S TROTTERS t was a break-even season for the varsity cross country team as it finished with a 4-4 record, even though three of the top sev- en runners of last season transferred to other schools. Bob Rotte, second man varsity, summarized the season as follows: We didn't have a great season, but we did the best we could with the material' we had. Al Camarillo, when asked his opinion stated: Depth was the one thing we were lacking. We didn't have as much grouping as we had last year. Danny Esparza was the standout of this year's team as he beat the best the Mar- monte League had to offer while going undefeated. 1.
