The Beginning of a Dream for a Community in Memory of Lorie Ponzuric Brown The Lorie Ponzuric Brown Memorial benefit per- formance of the Man of La Mancha is to initiate the building of a drama-theatre, music hall on the campus of N.P.H.S. in memory of our recently deceased drama teacher, Lorie Ponzuric Brown. Faculty members from Newbury Park High School are involved in raising funds and arouse public empathy towards the construction of a memorial theatre-concert hall on NPHS campus. Lorie Brown was a young, energetic, enthusiastic edu- cator and an inspiration to all that knew her. While she was drama teacher the existing drama program amazingly grew in student involvement in a very short time. Inside 'of four years her teaching assignment evolved' from one drama class to four, which included stage crafts.: This is a remarkable achievement for any teacher, handicapped with having no rehearsal or performancehall. - Vyr, . - We feel thatvthrough Lorie's efforts, as well as 'those before and after her, our campus and community inf terest in live theatre is so strongfthiat an auditorium on the NPI-lSgc'ampus is now vital to' the aesthetic and cul?f tural development of all people in the Newbury Park, area.
