One program offered at Newbury Park High School involved work experi- ence. The program presented various types of jobs for a hundred and fifty students. They could work and earn ten credits per semester at the same time. Weekly assignments were required, such as filling out applications, pre- employment test and resumes. The stu- dents also had guidance in selecting a future career after High School. Another Program offered was the Cadette program. This program in- volved twenty senior boys, ten from Newbury Park High School and ten from Thousand Oaks High School. The boys worked at five fire stations in the Conejo Valley. They spent a minimum of ten hours a week and earned five credits per semester. The purpose of i this program was to expose them to fire science and the career of being a fire- man. :'. ' Clubs 45a
