J .V. Boisterous Basketball Junior varsity basketball members consisted of an enthusiastic group of individuals who merged their talents to make a successful team. There were three returning players out of the fifteen girl team-Susana Howes, Tonya Johnson and Cathy Stansell-who together pooled their efforts with various other teammates to make a super season. The team was young and inexperienced but through the development of many skills such as the flip flop play, and our pre-season games be- hind us-Total overall improvement was dis- played. The girls made it known through their practice sessions that first place in league was the Team's goal. Together became our chant and unity was seen through encouragement from the bench as well as from the players on the court-thus giving that little extra to win league play. Back Rowg Deena raco, Coach Nori Parvin. 94a Varsity Basketball This year with five return- ing players and outstanding Freshmen and Sophomores, the Newbury Park Girl's Var- sity Basketball Team gave their best shot at taking the Marmonte League Champion- ship this year. Strong shooting forwards, Judy Wilson and Patty Harpel, together with the strengths of center, Holly Eggebrecht, and guards, Toni Steele and Becky Baker showed great potential with quickness and the ability to create plays when needed.
