The students and faculty very much. Attendance Officer-Bill Loretta. Nurse-Frances McDermott, school nurse on duty at all times. Faculty Secretary-Ethel Kennedy, who served the teachers this year helping them run off their tests that the students either passed, just passed, or blew. y help the Psychologist-Dr. Kerr, who listens 'oo all the deepest secrets and problems and wouldn't tell them to anyone without your permission. This year, like last year, the school had their very own psychologist, Dr. Kerr. Dr. Kerr counseled and worked with students in the EH program. With a MS in coun- seling and guidance and a PHd in psychology, she was well prepared to meet students and their needs. She en- joys working with the 13-19 age group and had someone dropping by all the time to talk about problems. Aside from her work with the students here at N.P.H.S. she was the psychologist at other schools as well. She is cur- rently on the faculty at CLC where she lectures. She also has a private practice in marriage counseling. She worked here on campus coming twice a week, and en- joyed her year working with our students. Faculty 121

120 Faculty The Work of the Counselors Head Counselor-James McElmorry, a busy man and busy counselor, constantly helping student and student-oriented matters. JoAnne Gastner-who this year worked with the career center in helping seniors with college information and scholarship aid. ,Qa- F Bob Fisher-a relatively new counselor, but certainly not new to N.P.H.S, He, like all of our counselors, work closely and intimately with all students. rf fi l ld 1l Paul Stalnaker-a counselor who has been with us for quite some time now, working with students to help solve their problems. 6 4 gl l 'V it il 1 7, l 'ai A in K 1 W, ki 4 fb' 1 John Baden-another busy individual, whose cheerful smile and easy manner make him an enjoyable person as well as counselor. 4, I l ' 1 , -' '-,K 5 J Sylvia Michael-who retumed from a year's sabbatical to us to work as a team with Mrs, Gastner in scholarship counseling and financial aid help. l

With the Passing of the Bond . if . i Lili i The lush, beautiful, newly-enlarged library, where there is usually peace and quiet was finally completed for the students use. With the passing of the bond, layouts and plans for a new, expanded library where readily accepted. At the end of the school year, last year, the enlarging process began by moving all library books and magazines to portable shelves in rooms 7 and 8. During the summer months, the dust flew and the inside walls crumbled. Finally, when the dust cleared, the phoenix arose from the ashes in the form of the beautiful, car- peted, much-more-spacious library. With the new library came a new librar- ian Mrs. Barbara Warkentien. Under Barbara's management, with moral and physical support from Bonny Patton, textbook clerk, and Carol Walters, library clerk, the library ran fairly smoothly throughout the year. 127 Faculty Librarian - Barbara Warkentien, who maintains control and peace in spite of all her other duties as librarian.
