The 1974 Varsity Polo team wound up their season with a third place finish. Some new faces on the team this year were Tom Meloth, a transfer student from Agoura High School, and Terry Pepperdine from Long Beach, they both aided in the teams success this year. I. B. Holston made an impressive showing in the first game against Nordoff scoring 15 goals. Mike Waters, Paul Holzapfel, and Scott Young made up the defense. Sharing the goalie posi- tion were Iohn Tricas and Don Fulton. At the awards banquet Most Valuable Player went to I. B. Holston and Tom Meloth. Most Improved went to Terry Pepperdine. Most Inspirational went to Mike Waters. To show Coach Sawyer their thanks the team presented him with two tickets to Las Vagas. Waterpolo 77

The 1974 Soph!Frosh Polo team in its second year of play took 2nd Place in the Marmonte League with an im- pressive 9-2 record over the other league teams. The starting players in- clude Brett Thorpe guard, Dean Zweng guard, Mike Hayes forward, Roy Ketshering guard, Steve Rubin forward, Mark Northrop goalie, and Bill Allen forward. Leading the team in scores was swimming star Mike Hayes, he was also voted Most Valuable Player. Best Defense went to Bill Allen. Most Im- proved went to Bill's brother Bob Allen. Coach Chris Sawyer says he is looking forward to next years team, It will be the best ever. Sawyer is looking for the league championship. Waterpolo 79
