The Newbury Park National Forensic League has been in its Second year with Mar- clne Solarez as advisor. This year N.F.L. has par- ticipated in several Speech and debate tournaments as well as holding their own on the 10th and 11th of lanuary. Officers this year were, Peter Light President, Beth Symons Vice-President, and Scott Rodriguez Treasurer. Celebrate! Time is short and days of wisdom are few. Do your searching now, look everywhere, ask how, beg for help, Make your promises, sell yourself. Set your head to the heavens and pick your stars. German and International clubs The German Club is in- tended to mix fun with various cultural activities throughout the year. Field trips were taken to Alpine Village, to amusement parks, and to view a Ge an film. The club also to part in celebrating Fasching and the famous Oktoberfest. This years advisor was Frau Feller it was her second year heading up the group and she kept the group busy with her interesting ideas. Girl's League This year Girl's League's many active members sponsored a car wash, a candy cane sale, and their annual Christmas Dance in December. january brought many guests to campus for a debate tournament. The girls served their homemade cookies, as well as food and coffee to the visitors. Other ac- tivities included a canned food and book drive for the needy, and many guest speakers. Under the direction of Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Mathis, Mrs. Weber, the Girl's League led a very full and successful year. T.W.P. are H.E.R.O.S. The members of T.W.P. had a very active year. Among other things, they changed their name from F.H.A. fFuture Homemakers of Americal to T.W.P. tTeens With a Purposel. just some of activities included a trip to San Diego for the F.H.A. conference. Homecoming week, they held a class competition with Spirit Chains and assisted with the float building. At Thanksgiving, the club had a surprise Thanksgiving Dinner for a needy family. They made candied apples for the faculty, and at the faculty Christmas party, they served an assortment of homemade goodies. Their hectic schedule also called for a Mother's Day luncheon. Under the direction of Mrs. Crosman, the members of T.W.P. were kept pretty busy. Clubs and Organizations 57
