I feel certain that this transition is an indication of a class going out into the world to make a name for itself and its individual members. While through the years the law has for- malized your twenty-first birthday as the day on which you become an adult in terms of legal and civic responsibility, f-or all other practical purposes you stand at the threshold of your lives as men and women when you receive your diplomas from Newburgh Free Academy.
