Class Prophecy During my world tour in 1984, in my chauffeur driven car, selling Hydrogen Water Pistols with built-in toothbrushes, the famous toy for children, I came upon a large city. Suddenly I recognized that this large city was my old home town, Newburg, so I decided to look up a few of my old friends. My first stop was at the home of one of my old classmates, Eleanor Gillespie, who is now married to Carl Altemeier. They got an early start in farming and now, with their three children, own Jasper County, Stopping now at the Boot Baseball Field, I talked awhile with another of my classmates, Barbara Sutten, who is now married to Dean Boot. They have just beaten the Dodgers out of the World Series. The Dodgers are managed by Barbara's brother, Kenneth. As I hadn't seen Kenny in quite a spell I decided to drop in and see how he was. He informed me that after playing with the Dodgers for Z0 years, immediately following his graduation, he decided to manage them and thought he could probably beat his sister's team next year, My next stop was at the ranch of Mr. and Mrs. Delrnar Sharp. Mrs. Sharp is the former Leta Grace Palmer and the Sharp's occupation is raising purebred Angus cattle and their Cheaper by the dozen children. I was informed by Delrnar's children that I should know their schoolteacher, so my next stop was at the Newburg School Building, and who should I find but Mrs. Richard Paul, the former Loretta Graham. She is the only schoolteacher in the world who is teaching her own child- ren. Loretta informed me she got her education at the Nolin Institute where Jean and John Nolin are being very successful. Jean Nolin is the former Jean Krunim, another of my old schoolnuates. They are very wealthy because they could send all their children through school free and are now letting their children support them. Walking through the town my attention was directed to a beautiful heart-shaped building with the insignia H. H. standing out. It seems that Henrietta had so many heartthrobs she started a Lonely Hearts Club with a personnel staff to take care of her business. Right across the street is another tall building, housing the Nott- Cooling Bachelor Agency. On the gold plate on the outside of the building was the following: President-Ronald Edgar Nott and Vice-President-Dale Ricky Cooling. Knowing that both of these fine gentlemen were classmates, I walked into the build- ing to have a talk with them. It seems Ronald was chosen president because of his lack of experience. -About a block down the street I ran onto a spacious hotel of about forty rooms, run by Mr. and Mrs, Don Mathis. Mrs. Mathis is the former Helen Jeane Schnell. Further down the street I came upon the Brown Bus Station. During my conversation with Walter Brown, a former school chum, I learned he got tired of buying gas to go to Prairie City so he bought this bus line, which he and Mrs. Brown, the former Beverly Jabbaai, own and operate. My former classmates were so well pleased with my product that I sold out. So I got into my car and started back for New York where I will retire and live on my old age pension, ' --Walter Brown and Loretta Graham
