“SENIOR HISTORY On September 5 l9LL forty eignt freshmen entered Newburg High School We were bashful and backward when tne seniors met us at the doors, but being green and sportsmanlike freshman, we took it as it came Durlng the vear we had several partles, welner roasts and assembly Progrems Our class officers, sponso s, and room mothers were as follows President Donnie McNerney Vice Presldent KGDDEDD Noland Secretary Jonn Ferguson Treasurer Norma Jo Pillman Sponsor Mrs Fuller Room mother Mrs McNerney During the sophomore year 'L5 L6 we had an enrollment of thirty three Now that we were sophomores we were thrilled to think we were not the greenest class 1n school We had our usual number of class parties and assemblies We also enjoyed a nice trip to NThe Police Circus' in St Louis Our class officers, sponsor, and room mother were as follows President Bob Roach Vice President Bob Decker secretary Amll Ganawey Treasurer Kenneth Noland Sponsor mr Turner Room mother Mrs Carter The next year we had more opportunity to do things and go places We put on a play durlnv our Junior year and it was very successful The name of it was nBetty Mason Detective ' It was well attended It was during this year that the room mothers, Mrs Decker and Mrs McNerney gave the Junior and senior classes e 'hobo' party the theme 'A Gypsy Campfire W Everyone seemed to have enjoyed it greatly Our class OfflCSFS, sponsor, and room mothers were as follows President Bob Decker Vice President Kenneth Noland Secretary Bob Roach Treasurer Donnie McNerney Sponsor Mrs Pennman Room mothers Mrs Decker Mrs McNerney This year when we came back to school we had early election of class officers, sponsor and room mothers President Amll Ganawey Vice President Doris Blue Secretary Davene Wilson Treasurer Bob Decker Sponsor Mrs Staggs Room mothers Mrs Decker Mrs McNerney The next thing we knew the Junior and senior room mothers gave us a Joint weiner roast at the Lions Club Park we had a delightful evenlng about the fire The members of the Lions Club gave a dinner at the Houston House in honor of the senior boys at which we not only had a delicious meal, but xlso saw a movie on 'Learning to Driven sponsored by the State Patrol Each of the boys learned something of interest from this very educational picture are eagerly looking forward to the Junior banquet at which we as honored guests are to be feted graduation time, our class has gone from fort5 eight f eshmen to twenty one seniors Some had a ittle difficulty in school, some dropped out, and some moved away At the end of thls year, being seniors, we will have reached the top of our high school education when school is out some of the 'L8 class are plannlng to enter college 9 n ' I '- A o Then in May we had the honor of giving the seniors a banquet. we used . , an A We ' By WI 1-
