CLASS PROPHECY It is now twenty long years since we walked away from Newburg High School as graduates of '45'. The class reunion was proceeding very nicely as I,Irene Blue entered, a little late from the offices of the St. Louis Herald, where I am now employed as human interests writer. One of the first persons I met was Lonzo LeFever, now reverend, who seemed to be doing very nicely with his con- gregation et Edgar Springs. P he seated ourselves at the nearest table and he pointed out various class-mates to me. There was Karl Gable and Lester Grayson who now are bachelors on their near by farm, talking to Faul Smith now a teacher of agriculture at Columbia Seated,at a near by table was Wilbur Stites, the Newburg Basketball Coach, discussing science with the world's greatest scientist, James Minkler. He told me about Ella Jean Bradford now a writer whose latest book is NHow to Stop Blushing and Overcome Bashfulness' Austin Kontgomery is now a famous play-wright whose latest success, stars those dramatic actressess, Fern Hudgens and Jessis Sendifer. . Fame one put a nickel in the Juke box and me heard Jim Arthur croon his latest ballad. - Something bumped the table and I looked up and axeeted Homer Guffey, the famous dancing instructor, showing the latest dence to Barbara Willis who was his assistant on his dancing tours. ' Aftwr leaving reverend LeFever, I noticed a crowd at one end of fne hall. Going over to see what was happening I sew June Deshurley doing her latest version of the bubble d.nce. , D I met another old school-mate, John Tright, who told me of his success on the radio as -n aspirin salesman, advertising for Judy Cain's net progiam Wwright or Trong.n
