Clover High, champions of district No. 4, was played at Q Clover in the semi-finals and in a' splendid contest featured by theustellar pitch- 5.2 ' T ing of Alan Hipp, the Bull Dogs annexed the .game 6 to'3l. On Saturday, the day after the Cloverkgame, the Bull Dogs metr Gaffney Q at Gaffney, and lacking necessary pitching material,, our star Hipp having 2 2 pitched the day before, Newberry fell before the onslaught of the Gaffney nine 5 1 ' . ' D Q by the tune of 24 to 5. . . - , 7 al VHowever the Bull Dogs returned home proud of their having won the Q championship of districts Nos. 10 and 4. Eleven games were played during the lg 21 season, the Bull Dogs winning seven and losing only four. .Three of the four K ' games lost were to more experienced tealms and larger schoolsgnamely, Htwo lost if to Colungxhia.High and one to Gaffney. The Columbia boys defeated the Bull Q q Dogs' at Newberry the first-of the season 10 to O..
