NAVY 54 JOYCE - MODEL DHH. - ARTIST BILL, GEORGE' QHEFS JOYCE - BEAUTICKAN CLASS HISTORY September, 1947, as Freshmen, we answered roll call to Mrs. Pierce and Mr. Higgins. As soon as we were settled we held class elections. The ballots revealed Ronald Oliver, President, William Hammond, Vice-President, Mary Jane Waitl, Secretary, Sylvia Lisk, Treasurer, Marjorie Needham and Gary Johnson, Student Council Representatives. Mrs. Pierce and Mr. Weeks guided our destiny as Sophomores. Our class officers were Ronald Oliver, Presi- dent, Ronald Johnson, Vice-President, Sylvia Lisk, Secretary- Treasurer, Norma Keith and Gary Johnson, Student Council Representatives. We went to Taughannock Falls for a picnic and ordered our class rings. As determined Juniors we started the task of financing our Senior trip. We produced nAlmost Summern, a comedy filled with chills and chuckles. We sold stationery and operated a concession at the Carnival. The highlight of the social season was the nStarlight Garden Prom.n Our officers were Ronald Johnson, President, Jean Belokur, Vice- President, Betty Lou Deming, Secretary, Sylvia Lisk, Treasurer, and Norma Keith and Gary Johnson, Student Council Representatives. Miss Donohue and Mr. Weeks were chosen faculty advisors for our Junior and Senior years. September, l95l, we were Seniors!! William Hammond was elected President, Jean Belokur, Vice-President, Betty Lou Deming, Secretary, Margaret Schoonmaker, Treasurer, Mary Vrooman and James Snavely, Student Council Representa- tives. In November we presented our class play, Wwe Shook the Family Treen, a hilarious success. To bring us a step nearer Washington we sold Christmas cards, magazines and sponsored a square dance. Now we have reached the goal for which we have strived for twelve years-graduation! As we think of these joyous years, the fun we have had, the unlimited benefits from association with classmates, we pause in making our adieus. With something of the spirit of Tacitus we say Amico firmo nihil emi melius potest-nNothing can be purchased which is better than a firm friend.n 55 MI .
