CLASS HISTORY When we entered the Town Hall for the first elections of our high school years and settled down to ballotmg for our Freshman officers we found the outcome to be Richard Tappan Mayor Edward Shellhammer Assistant Mayor Dawn Kent Community Secretary and Treas urer We had a very successful year with our adviser Coach Lynaugh We had two parties a sleighride and a hot dog roast In our Sophomore year we found commumty problems more pressing As Mayor we had Edward Shellhammer as Assistant Mayor we had George Arnold as Secretary Ann Keane and Commumty Treasurer was Marion Dunlop Our advisers were Mr Harold Miller and Miss Helen Donohue We held a sleighride in the winter and in the spring we went to Taughannock Falls for a picnic We also ordered our class rings When we started our umor year we had big plans We again elected as Mayor Edward Shellhammer Assistant Mayor Norman Shirrmacher Secretary Ann Keane and Treasurer Myrna Partridge Our advisers were Mr Schoonmaker and Miss Lundy We held a bake sale and produced our umor play Mama s Baby Boy which was a huge success We also sold writing paper to our fellow citizens The big event of our umor year was when we put on our unforgettable Moonlight Prom which was a social success as well as financial We Baccalaureate and Graduation The thrill of the year was moving up day when we left our Iumor seats and Eddie ushered us into the hallowed Senior Section At last' Our red letter year was here In the fall of 1948 we returned to school with the official title of Senior and fell to work with vigor our goal being the Washington trip ln the spring After electing officers Mayor George Arnold Assistant Mayor Sybil Chrysler Secretary Ann Keane Treasurer Myrna Partridge and carrying over our Iumor advisers Mr Schoonmaker and Miss Lundy we sold magazmes and that was supplemented by Christmas cards and wrapping paper We produced our Senior play ust Ducky which was a riotous success We had always suspected that we had Broadway material in our class but this was realization Our Woodhull dance in February netted us a good sum By this time we had met with Mr Van Zxle and planned our Washington trip Excitement is running high as we enter the last phase of our high school lxfe Commence ment the crowning glory of our four years will soon be here and all the good times yust a pleasant memory But the future has good outlook for the Class of 49 since TODAY DE- CIDES TOMORROW 29 worked on our Commencement duties, collecting peonies for stage decorations and ushering at i - ' , , A I .
