STEM? The Class of '45 began its career in September, l94l. Very fresh indeed, werwere divided into two homerooma, the boys in Mrs. Paulus' room, and the girls in Mrs. Chamberla1n's. Elections were held, and the results were: Lewis Cook, President, Onalea Graves, Vice-President, Daniel Bender, Secretary, and Betty Lawrence, Treasurer. Roger Snapo and Betty Lawrence were chosen as Student Council Representatives. Two parties were held in the gym, and the class had a won- derful time all year with Mr. Edson and Mr. Hagerty as derful time all year with Mrs. Edson and Mr. Hagerty as advisers. The next year found the boys and girls still divi- ded--the again in again in elected: former in Mr. Burger's room, and the latter Mr. Mrs. Chamberla1n'e. All-girl officers were Thelma Luszczek as President, Lillian Needham, Vice-President, Alice Luszczek, Secretary, and Nannette Woodard Treasurer The Council Representatives were Doris Hover and Bernard Gregrow We silly Sophomores had two parties again that year, and Miss Beaanson and Mr Frost ably served as advisers Now jaunty Juniors, but beginning to realize we had to earn some money, we met all together in Miss Besanson's homeroom She and Miss Gaylord were our ad visers and under their guidance, we sold stationery put on a play 'Everybody s Crazy Now ' held a Junior Prom, and enjoyed two more parties Our officers were Richard Rutan, President, Bernard Gregrow, Vice Presi dent Betty Lawrence, Secretary, and Thelma Luszczek Treasurer Lewis Cook and Gerald Dunn represented us ln the Council As sophisticated Seniors we assembled in Miss Roberts' homeroom. Officers were elected to guide us on our last journey--Gerald Dunn, Presidentg Bernard Gregrow, Vice-President, Betty Lawrence, Secretary, Alice Luszczek, Treasurer, and Lillian Needham, Business Manager. Janet Stimmlng and Lewis Cook were our Coun- cll Representatives, and we very wisely chose Miss Roberts and Miss Gilliland as advisers. Our one aim all during the year was the ckass truo ti New York, which we took during the week after Easter with Miss Roberts and Mr. Weeks as chaperonee. To finance this trip we sold magazines, held two dances, received the profits from two movies, and presented the Senior Play, gg Authgr gg the Fggily. However, all was not work during the year. On alent1ne's Day, we had a for- mal banquet at which everyone had a very good time. New York was also the scene of many jo ous times, and all who went on the trip thouRhU it we 1 worth their while During the year Junior Oakes,Bernard Gregrow, Charles Marlnue and Daniel Bender left to enter the aerviceof Uncle Sam Do othy Bro n left to be married Now as we go out from Newark Valley Central School we regret leaving the many friends we have made through the years, both students and teachers We are glad to go,too glad to begin our lives as adults but we will always cherish memories of our schoo1days neath the Cardinal and hhite N HGNGR STUDENT LOIS BOVEN ALICE Luszczex GERALD DUNN THELMA LuszczEx LEWIS coox HELEN MEAD MARIAN HINRICHSEN LILLIAN NEEDHAM MARY xozswosxy MARJORIE STEVENS BETTY LAWRENCE JANET STIMMING SCI-IOCJI.
