Z X X I X Septe er 1957 found nearly seventy fP6SHU8D ansuerln roll call in the home oms of Nrs Paulus and Yrs Chamberlain As soon as we were settl we held class elections The ballets revealed Gladys Keith, oresl nt, Evelyn Hollenbeck, vice president, Doris Haecker, ecretary, L lian Jackson, treasurer, Edward Katchuk and Mayfred Stim mlnv, studen council representativ s Mrs Chamberlain and Mr Hand ville were un nlmously chosen faculty advisers We held two very success fa' partie: 1 the gym under the supervision of these advisers Through t e portals of learning in 1938 streamed over sixty sea soned sophomores to spend the year under the able guidance of Mrs Chamberlain and Mr Loomis Our class officers were Edward Katchuk, president, Harold Lacey, vice president, Virginia Kieda secretary Marian Baty, treasurer, Gladys Keith and Melvin Jewett, student council representatives Encouraged by the success of our freshman parties, we held two more, one a hilarious velner roast As determined Juniors we started the task of financing a senior trio Our first money making ventures were a bake sale and the oroduc tion of our Junior play We selected the play The Sixth fgy,a mystery filled with chills and chuckles The officers that year were president, Melvin Jewett, vice president, Marian Baty, secretary, Rhonda Mead, Stu dent Council representatives, Edward Katchuk, Leola Avery and Joe Braco Mrs Paulus and Mr Loomis were chosen faculty advisers for our junior and senior years September, 1940 found us mighty seniors At the first opportunity we held class elections Melvin Jewett was re elected president, Leola Avery, vice president, Dorothy Yaman, secretary, Marian Baty, treasure Gladys Keith, business manager, Irene Kobylarz and Harold Post, Student Council representatives We were very sorry to lose Evelyn Hollenbeck who has been with us until February In December we presented our class clay. We chose a hilarious comedy, The Tin Hero. To help further our plans for a senior trip, we sold stationery, subscriptions to magazines, and held some square dances Now within a few days, we will have reached the goal towards which we have been striving for the past twelve years. Commencement! One word that sends simultaneous shivers of joy and trepidation through our heats for we are leaving school to make our olace in the future secure. Even the vlcissltudes of life can not dull the poignant memories of the years we have spent together. With something of the solrit of Byron, we say: 'Farewelli a word that must be, and hath been, A sound which makes us linger, 24 Yet farewell!
