FOREWORD 1n 1911 the first issue of the Revei11e Magazine was pubiished during the principa1ship of Mr. Oren 1. Barnes. The current issue of the Revei11e Annual, because of some irregu1arity in numbering during the pericd from 1911 to the present, is Vo1urne 35. Ac- cepting that volume nurnber as an anniversary nurn- ber, the Staff of the Revei11e Annuai ce1ebrates this cora1, or jade, anniversary by choosing as its theme the Past and the Present, or the Qld and the New, in recognition and appreciation of those intervening years from 1911 to the present. Minerva, who is fea- tured this year, syrnboiizes for the staff the ever-pres- ent deity who has stood in our ha11 and has watched the succeeding generations of students pass by through the 1ong corridors of Newark 1-1igh Schoo1 to fame, fortune, honor, and in many instances, the de- fense of our country.
