CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 48 the doors of N C H S opened to 37 green little freshmen After wondering around for a few days very bewildered we got together and elected the following people for officers Ronald Holverson President Carol Fruland Vice President Beverly Iohnson Secre tary Treasurer Our Student Council member was Tommy Hextell Miss Hauge and Mr Shears were our class advisors ln the year of 49 31 members of our class returned Our biggest event this year was the ini tration of the freshmen After settling down we chose the following for class officers George Knudson President David DeLong Vice President Carol Fruland Secretary Stanley Miller Treasurer Duane Orton and Ianrce Johnson were our Student Council members Miss Hauge and Mr Bergland were our advisors The next year 32 of us returned to Newark High as priviledged upperclassmen We decided on Duane Orton Presxdent Richard Kastel Vice President Beverly Johnson Secretary Juanita Ferguson Treasurer George Knudson Carol Fruland and Shirley Hendrickson were our Stu Our greatest events for this year were the Junior Senior Banquet the play just Ducky which proved a tremendous success and the ordering and recen ing of our class rings We were well represented in music band baton twrrlers cheerleaders and also had Several members gn me varsity team This year as the doors of good ol N C H S opened 30 dignified Seniors crossed the threshold for their last year This year George Knudson holds the ojb of President David DeLong Vice President Beverly Johnson Secretary and Mary Jane Peterson Treasurer Our Student Coun crl members are Clyde Davidson Presrdent Kyle Johnson Vice President Carol Fruland Secretary Treasurer and Betty Lou Taylor Mr Bergland and Mr Wayne Grlbertson are our class advisors We are very well represented in the music department band IWlIllDg and cheerleading We have six members on the varsity team The Annual and Campus Chatter are managed by our class Our Senior play The Perfect Idiot was also a great success As we look back through the years we've spent at Newark High we regret the thought of leaving Our years have been made very enjoyable by all the faculty and underclassmen We wish all of you the best of luck rn the future G . . i . dent Council members.
