The Finance Club attempted to bring a composite representaf tion of the world of practical business to the business student. Prom' nent men in the field of- business and finance spoke to the Club on topics of current interest. Field trips were arranged: The New York Federal Reserve Bank, the New York Stock Exchange, the oiiices of the Wall Street Journal were among the business centers visited. The Club also maintained an advisory service which aided the Hnance student and other students in specialized Helds of business. An attempt was made to solve the problems of the student with a practical view constantly in mind. ,cv : lUCOUN,'l'I 1: ll Now in its fourth year, the Accounting Club has tried to promote a closer affiliation between SBA students and the business world. The club strives specifically to stimulate a greater interest in the profession of accounting and to encourage activities beyond the required work of the classroom. During the past year, members of the club were given the opportunity to hear many qualified speakers from the business world and have thus become aware of some of the problems they will meet in the field of accounting. One of the speakers, Mr. Marshall Thomas, President of the New Jersey Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, spoke on C.P.A. regulations and opportunities in the public accounting field. Another speaker, Mr. Percy Proctor spoke on opportunities in Administrative and Industrial Accounting.
