CLASS OFFICERS President: William Fremouw; Vice-President: Kathleen Peters; Secretary-Treasurer: David Lagana. CLASS HISTORY Our Freshman year at the Junior High was spent With Lawrence Stevens class president We led the school, and enjoyed success from Some Enchanted Evening , our own Freshman prom. The following year we moved in to occupy The Sophomore classes at the Senior High. This same year saw us to class underlings reduced, And Around the World in 80 Days was produced. With Susan Stoddard as our Junior class head To an active role in school events we were led. Our Shangri La and play, Harvey , won enthusiastic awards, While we struggled with National Merit Tests and first College Boards. Now as seniors, we gaze on future’s bright ember. But we shall ever this final year of school-life remember With Where’s Charley? and college, yearbooks, and Class Day skits, And the aura of excitement which youth’s promise permits. As June and graduation steadily near, Our assurance is shaky but destiny clear From a world built on Knowledge from books ensuing We plunge into life based upon actual doing. Therefore, we thank Newark High School for giving Us students the best-known blue-print for living-To keep for ourselves one, simple, lone star with spirit ablaze That sometime, somewhere, someone of our children might say, Life’s theme...........Happiness.........Always, always.” 22

Sue Ann DeBout Sue Ann, who left the class of ’66 during the past summer, will always be remembered as a cheerful, pleasant, enjoyable person with a good sense of humor; but she had a serious side when the occasion called for it. Sue Ann was an active member of Future Homemakers of America for four years. She always seemed to have a smile and a good word for everyone.
