S tiox CiaAA SiLsta’ty, In 1950 the graduates of the three grade schools united to form the seventh grade of the Class of 1956. During the year the Social Studies-Science Club was formed. The club’s main activity for the year was the seventh grade trips. We had the choice of either going to Niagara Falls or to Letchworth State Park. Our second year in Newark High found many of us participating in clubs, sports, and other activities. A highlight of the year was the class plays. This was our first attempt at a class production. We were the first eighth grade class to win the class plays. Our color guard and standard bearer for the year were Mary Livingston and Norman Plyter. At last we entered high school! As freshmen we elected class officers who were as follows: Sally Bilotta, President; Mary Mangan, Vice-President; Judy Swain, Secretary; and Norman Fitch, Treasurer. An important project of the year was the writing of several themes pertaining to each student’s life. As there were two girls tied for color guard, both of them were chosen. They were Kathy Taylor and Nancy Robb. James Renick was the standard bearer. Our sophomore year was begun with the election of class officers who were the following: James Renick, President; Phillip Shaffner, Vice-President; Helen Marrocco, Secretary; and Robert Thomson, Treasurer. That year the color guard and the standard bearer were Jane Reuter and Norman Plyter. Our junior class officers were as follows: Ted Rodgers, President; Helen Marrocco, Vice-President; Lynn Klefeker, Secretary; and Robert Beales, Treasurer. Shortly after the election of class officers, we started work on the Junior Play, Take Care of My Little GirL Rhythm Rhapsody” was the theme of our Junior Prom. Our term papers for American History I were also one of the main projects of the year. Our top honor students for the year were Norman Plyter and Kathy Taylor. At the end of the year we elected our senior class officers who were the following: Ted Rodgers, President; Sally Bilotta, Vice-President; Shirley Blankenburg, Sec- retary; and Richard Stevenson, Treasurer. James Renick was elected honorary president of the class. We are now seniors. As seniors the first task put before us was die sale of magazines. Our goal was $18,100, which we exceeded by making $19,661.03. Our senior year was truly the most exciting and the busiest, for we wrote our United Nations' themes, we went to Washington, D. C., and we are looking forward to graduation climaxed by the Senior BalL YOLANDA ANDREW Lonnie Now wait a minute!
