CLASS CDF 1954 l-IISTCDRY The Fmol Yeor At School In September a new class of Seniors took the high road which would lead to graduation We had the good fortune to greet old friends and the misfortune to view the aw kwardness of the new cadets Wlthln a few weeks however 1rre ularltles were rectlfied and under the capable supervision of Uajor Angello and his Staff the Corps soon resembled a mllltary organization But this year for us was quite different we were First Classmen and leaders of the Corps The Fall days passed quickly especially for the Seniors on the Football Team playing for the last time and helping give NYNIA an undefeated season Of course Fall would not be complete without Halloween Hop and Thanksgiving Furlough' Ipon returning to NYMA for a well deserved rest the Semors began preparing for the First Trimester exams We came through fwe might addl with flying colors The Christmas spirit was experienced by all as in dlcated by the superb decoratlons and the Fall Athletic Dmner Father Cipolaro was very happy' After Christmas furlough fand some interesting anecdotesll the Seniors contlnued to study asslduously for the College Boards How to Study classes doubled' Winter weather directed the mcomparable athletes of NIYNIA to seek refuge in the Gymnasium swimming pool wrestling room and r1fIe range fall except the sleigh and sled riders that isll where we vigorously displayed our athletic ability With the 1ncept1on of Spring the annual stage pro duction Yea Furlough' demanded from its willing participants lon hours of practice Naturally we FITSI Classmen could not resist the opportunity to banter our Faculty and Staff It was a toss up as to who enjoyed the production the most the players the audience or Sam the Laundryman In harmony Wlth the furlou h Splflt the Seniors borrowed 350 chalrs from the Mess Hall and wlth amaz ing dexterity assembled them ln battalion formation on the Campus tThey were returnedlj During Sprm Trimester the Senlors settled down to more hard work lights burned in the Barracks after taps and a retord number of follege acreptances began to arrive at the Headmaster s Olllce We were ln the final excruciating torture of Final Exams' Our nerves were keyed to a fever pltrh finally the ordeal was over and Commencement became a reality During Graduation Week the Senior Class was in volved 1n Company Competltlves lsleepj awarding war rants commissions and prwes lsleepl final guard mountlng lsleepl special banquets leatl and the memorable Graduation H p lno sleepll The next mornin, our dreams materialized We became alumni Our days at 'NYNIA were over Some of our pals we would never see a am but we sincerely hoped that they would all be successful in their future endeavors To the new Semor Class we bequeath that se ment of a person s life which later is considered the be t RLOI 101 - - . cs ev - an - - as ' 5 7 ' f , g .
