'A' ir -lr -k Junior Varsity Football HIS year's B squad is one to be congratulated. Against I much heavier and more experienced teams they showed a lot of laudable Hght and spirit. Even during practices when they were thrown against the varsity they played so hard that much of A squad's success was due to these hard fought practices. In the V.'s first game, which was played with Newburgh, they won by a good margin much to the delight of the onlook- ing Corps. This was the only game which B squad played at home. Their next game was with Wfalden High School varsity at Wfalden. The AI.V.'s were out-played but not out-fought here. Again playing away at Cold Spring with Haldean High School, B squad gave a repetition of their previous fine sportsmanship and Hght. Although playing a superior team on a strange and wet field every man played hard and to the best of his ability. Again they lost but they played so fine a game that they had nothing to be ashamed of. With the memory of these two defeats B squad went to Oakwood with the intention of do or dief' They did and won, thus evening up their average. As a reward for their spirit and play, B squad started against Highland High School, an A Squad game. They were taken out and the varsity replaced them but in the last quarter B squad again Went in. They played as good a game, if not better, as did A squad, but several of the most outstanding players were moved up and given places on the varsity. Teamwork and fight as shown by B squad must be founded on a Hrm base. This foundation was supplied by the able and understanding coaching of Mr. Boisseau and Mr. Dunning. Through their work and efforts B squad was molded from inex- perienced material. On the whole this year has been a successful year for both B squad and their coaches. We only hope future teams have as much spirit and Hgh: and as fine coaching as this year's. Page nm' linmlrul llurlg 1 I t t wars I
