SEHIOR CLASS l'llSTORll One sunny morning, the alarm clocks of twenty-five little freshies started us on our journey through Dutchtown High. After we had found our way around the halls that seemed too big for us and met our new classmates, we organized our class and elected our officers: Gene VanOrsdall, president, Margaret Smith, vice-president, Sylvia Scheer, secretary-treasurer, Roger Sage and Pauline Fisher, student council. For our class sponsor we chose Mr. Robey. On September 21 we came prepared for bed and were initiated by the Seniors which officially made us members of D. H. S. We were then given refreshments andtaken on a hayride to Bucyrus. Many of our classmates took an active part in sports and music. We eagerly began our second year by electing our officers-Roger Sage, president, Bill Heydinger, vice-president, Darlene Ankney, secretary, Helen Wechter, treas- urer. We chose Miss Dunbar as our class sponsor. Connie Alt was a varsity cheer- leader. At the beginning of the second semester, Lois and Larry Hosey joined our class, making our total twenty-seven.

We elected Margaret Smith as our president: Sylvia Scheer, vice-president, Darlene Ankney, secretary: Lois Hosey, treasurer. For our class sponsor we chose Mr. Hershberger. We received our long awaited class rings. We lost two members, Forrest Strohm and Dale Ehresman, leaving our total twenty-five. Our first big social event of the year was in giving our class play, Father Was a Housewife. Tl.e highlight of our Junior year was the Jun- ior-Senior banquet. For our theme we chose The Rainbow. After the meal and program, we had a theater party at Mansfield. Ourjunior year soon came to a close. We are proudly looking forward to our Senior year. . And now our last year at D. H. S. at long-last reach the stately title of seniors and for our last leaders we chose Gene VanOrsdall, presidentg Bill Heydinger, vice-presi- dentg Sylva Scheer, secretaryg Darlene Ankney, treasurer. We chose Mr. Cole as our sponsor. Charlotte Pifher joined our class, making a -total of 26. We began making plans for our first act as Senior, Freshman initiation. The little devil in some of us showed itself and gave the poor little freshies a rough time. The first attempt in the year to raise money was in having a paper drive. It netted a tidy sum but oh! such tired and dirty kids! We had bake sales and car washes during the year. Our Senior play, Glamour Boy was a huge success. We are now busy publishing the Ne-Wa-Hi. For our motto we chose Today We Follow, Tomorrow We Lead. Our class colors are royal blue and white, with blue and white carnations as our flower. We are plan- ning to take a trip to Washington D. C. and New York. Our Senior year was a won- derful year spent at Dutchtown High and with anxiety we are awaiting our com- mencement exercises, never to forget the four wonderful years we spent there. --LZLL SETHCR CLASS lDll..l..
