Dutch Thev su that it s grand to bc a Jumm You 1119 vice PRESIDENT Leo Kail n t looked up to you arent looked SECPETAR1 Roberta F1 d ' B t t Vain on behlgldnex TRFASURER Donald Hevdmgex They ll be dignified SPYIIOIS PRESIDENT George Mlchelfelder It was on the memorable day of September 8 1936 that we forty two eager students gathered at school to enroll as Fresh men The first few davs in the presence of such scholarly per sons as were those upper class men wx ere very embarrassing to us Hay mg appointed Mr VanOrsdall as our class sponsor vue were ready to elect officers Those elected were Neil Ankney presi dent Gerald Alt VICE president Dw1ght Coder secretary treas urer and Dorothy Burgr and Howard Ewlng Representatlw es to Student Council One of our social events of the wear was a class party at the home of Arlene Marquart In September 1937 we agam met to resume our dutles We iegretted that we could not keep Sl ch a large class Various reasons had depleted our number but during the year we wel comed Arlene Kepllnger from Sulphur Springs and Arlene Mc Mxllan from Sidney One of the first problems to confront ue that vear was class organlzatlon The problem w as solved when lots fell to Roberta Fry president George Michelfelder uc-e presldent Dorothy Burger secretary Ruth Meyers treasurer and Ruth Powell and Leo Karl councll representatives Durmv' the year a class partv was held at Dorothy Burger s As the fall of 38 arrlved, we suddenly realized that Father Tlme had taken us 1nto the Junior year. We now felt that we were an Important part of the student body Shortly after the re opening of school, our class assembledat a meeting to appolnt the follovslng class officers to take us through that never to be for gotten year' George Mlchelfelder, presldent, Leo Karl, vice presldent, Roberta Fry, secretary, Donald Heydinger, treasurer. Arlene Keplmger and Nell Ankney, council representatives Two new members 1o1ned our glOl1p during the year, Ferrel Willlam son from Kentucky, and Rosemary Brillhart from Attica lhe p escntation of the p ay, Sunbonnet Jane of Sycamore Lane and the tapping of the Jumcr members to the Honor Soci ety were the high llghts of the first semester Wlth the commg of the second semester, arrn ed the two days to which every 1un1o1 looks forward: the day foi the ordering and the receiving of the class rings Our eventful year was closed by the Junior Senior banquet on May 16th.
