Well, it looks like welve made it. We've seen New Washington go through so many changes as we've passed through our school years. For instance, we were the first and only class to perform in a 4th grade musical. We chose our own songs, borrowed and rented costumes, and performed in a variety of skits. As 6th graders, we welcomed the transfer of the students from Marysville and Hibernia. These students have become just as good friends as those who've attended New Washington since lst grade. We were also the first 6th graders to change classes as the high schoolers do. Our 6th grade year was a busy one for us. The class of '79 also has a number of outstanding students. We are honored to have held the Homecoming Queen position for the last 3 years. Marissa Bare served as our sophomore queen; Bonnie Cole, as our junior queen; and Lori Clapp, as our senior queen. As a sophomore, Tricia Gilbert was chosen by the FFA to be their sweetheart. Dennis Johnson represents the males of our class by having a musical composition sent to the state level of the PTA Cultural Arts Contest. Five of our class members participated in the lst annual Quiz Bowl. They were: Kelly Cartright, Tricia Gilbert, Dennis Johnson, Derwin Wiggam, and Yancy York. They were successful in defeating the juniors. Although our class has shrunk in number, from 67 our freshmen year to 48 in our senior year, we have grown in stature, experience, and spirit.
