As we face the ominous world situation of today, let us remember that every age has faced grave problems, but Twentieth Century tech- nology which has brought mankind so many blessings, has also increased man's power for evil and destruction, These forces of good and evil hang in precarious balance-a balance which must be overweighted for good if civilization as we know it is to continue. Faith, hope, and courage are vital constituents of the American Way. I challenge you, the youth of today, to be wiser, more patient, more firm, and to develop a keener sense of religious and moral responsi- bility than my generation. Various other attractions are the school play, class movies, county contests, fall festival, band con- certs, music festival. We also take part in such athletics as basketball, track, and baseball. Then of course, all juniors and seniors look forward to the annual junior and senior Prom. For seniors their comes Baccalaureate and Graduation. All in all, we have a well balanced schedule. These kids work on the Chronicle Jr. This is strictly news; no gossip. All of the latest important happen- : ings around school are printed in if these seven or eight pages every month. These three women really keep us going! They prepare and serve our food each day. Believe me-they have a job and do it well! This is a typical scene in an ad- vanced typing class. In this class the kids bruhh up on speed, accuracy and rhythm m their typing- This is a synopsis of a school day. The first period we work on the Chronicle, the regular paper of the school. Then we go to Home Economics to sew or cook. Maybe we have a study period next and We can dream of that last school party, then to the heart of things in Biology. By that time we are ready for a psychonanalysis in psychology. . . . . . . . . . . . . . They have had 8 wins and 8 losses. Some of these boys are very good prospects for the Varsity team next year. The members of our junior high team are: Gayle Johnson, David Newman, Dan Jones, Roy Bastian, Glen Cole, John Cain, Harold Hebner Coach, Kenny Pollard David Jones, Delbert Graves, Richard Baker, Larry Wiggam, Gene Johnson, Donald Bussey, and Tommy Ross Student Manager; Not shown are Cline Kenthoach Gordon Kent Student Manager, and Joe Wheeler. 9 We are very proud of our Mustang Cagers. At the left is-Coach Rauth, Hebner Bastian, Bower, Chesser, Johnson, Fonts, Beach, Pollard, Webb, Branstetter, and our two student managers, Hebner and McCreary. During the season we won 8 games and lost 12. The improvement of the club was greatly noticed at the end of the year. This year the cheerleaders were Paula Montgomery, Lester Hutsell, and Sharla Travis. It was the first year for each of them, and they did a splendid job. They shared all of the joys and lost just as many tears as anyone. It was partly in- cluded in their job to control the fans, and they settled the problem easily. We want to congratulate them for doing the job so efficiently.
