Principal's Message Dear GraduaTes: We live in a world ThaT is conTused and confusing. The acTions oT Mr. Khrushchev, The policies oT business corporaTions, The discoveries of scienTisTs, The social preiu- dices oT afher people-all These and many oTher Torces over which we as individuals have liTTle or no conTrol, sTrongly aTlecT our lives. These Torces are diTFiculT To con- Tend wiTh, and almosT Too complex To un- dersTand. IT is easy To see why some peo- ple give up in despair, Turn away Trom concern over These Things, and devoTe Their lives To The saTisTacTion oT Their im- mediaTe, personal wanTs. BuT if we do This, if we make no eTlorT To undersTand and To deal wiTh The prob- lems which conTronT us, we are admiTTing +ha+ we are noT TiT To be ciTizens in a democraTic socieTy. And if Too many oT us shirlc our responsibiliTies as ciTizens, we shall have only ourselves To blame Tor The evils and iniusTices which may resulT.
