Noonan, Principal HOOL Miss Mary T. McGra'I'l1 and Mr. Louis G. Feldman, Adminislraf' A + 'I' January, I956 H ERE LA TYRANIN f W ENR fx BEQ 1Ns W We dedicate our yearbook generally to American Revolutionary and colonial history, specihcally to the freedom and ideals it symbolized. As we struggle through the endless routine of daily living, we must try to recreate that Spirit of 776 and all it really means. Faced with the problem of analyzing and re-evaluating old concepts, the valiant men and women before us had to devise new dynamic ideals of their own. They became a vital and potent force in American history because they refused to accept ideas unquestioningly. In doing so, they bequeathed to us a heritage so impregnated with the spirit of liberty and freedom that we are duty-bound to recognize its significance. Taking our cue from those of 776 who envisioned democracy and made it reality, we must accept the responsibility as graduates, as adults, as a nation, to strive to think independently and honestly, and to perpetuate forever those visions of democ- racy. As we face our future, whether it be business or college, we must remember that, collectively, our deeds will soon be history. E.G. Three 1 F Qi fr? Should one smile, Trown, or hide? ATTen pondering The guesTion, I've decided ThaT The camera's vicTims can be divided inTo eighT diTTerenT Types. Type One: The TooThpasTe AdverTisemenT -When conTronTed by a camera, he grins Trom ear To ear, Thus producing a picTure which consisTs only oT TeeTh, TeeTh, and more TeeTh. Type Two: Surprised-I-Ie is calmly walking down The sTreeT when his name is called. Turning quickly, he Tinds himseIT Tacing a lens which has iusT recorded his look oT compIeTe asTonishmenT. ThirTy-seven Type Three: Gangly-No maTTer how he's siTTing or sTanding, his arms and legs always seem To geT in The way. I'Iis IasT picTure ITiny head blocked by Two large TeeTI was boughT by a chiropodisT. Type Four: 0bsTinaTe-IMore poIiTeIy called camera shy. I JusT because There is a man wiTh a camera, he revoITs. I-Ie haTes To be phoTographed. I-Ie haTes phoTog- raphers. I-Ie haTes To smile. BUT, when he is held down by Two Triends, he Too succumbs. Type Five: The Camera I'Iog-Everyone knows him. I-Ie's The one whose Tace always manages To be in TronT, blocking everyone eIse's, and who comes ouT The worsT and ruins The picTure. Type Six: I-IaIT-head I-larry-Poor I-larry! I-Ie iusT can'T seem To geT one compleTe parT oT himseIT inTo a picTure. ATTer years oT seeing only one side oT his head or The Tip oT his ear, he's sTiII Trying. Type Seven: PhoTo-Crazy-I-Ie has Ten Thousand picTures oT himseIT and has papered The walls oT his house wiTh Them. IT There is someone Taking picTures Ten miles away, he will Tind ouT and be There in Two minuTes. Type EighT: Un-phoTogenic-I'Ie iusT never looks righT. EiTher he comes ouT blurred, or wiTh a lurid grin, or wiTh a horrible Trown. SomeTimes he doesn'T even come ouT aT all. From This survey I've come To The conclusion ThaT a camera does very sTrange Things To people. I have Tried unsuccessTuIIy To decide exacTIy which caTegory I TiT inTo. Since I'm afraid To Tind ouT, I've decided noT To be Tound in TronT oT a camera again. Thar is, noT unTil someone wanTs To Take my picTure.
