Ac' lXuJAfng lll'I'.l 0 Vwlith the dawn Aurora's sprightly glance Was aired on the flowers' spirit so blithe. Bs in the lively and carefree breeze, Sprinkling fragrance so sweet c.r1d warmth of breath, Blossoms swayed to and fro. Through meadows of green, over high hills, Down winding roads hummed a light whiff of wind Gently stroking each passing petal, Paused whilst encircling and rustling the leaves And nestled in the trees. Awakened was the violet blue: She blinked, then nodded to the gay wind In its course so lively, ever swift Leaping in and out of the waters, Twinkling in the smoky light. The green grass shone in the morning glow, Blades dispelling radiance divine, Winking at the sun, to the insects beckoning The stalks stood tall, adorned In caps ot glistening dew. In deep blue above soars the skylark, And whilst slowly descending in flight, Gave forth song sublime, ever lilting lr' clea: tones so vibrant and sparkling, They dimmed the sun's bright rays. With the dusk the raw, bleak blanket of frost Was spread over life iust green, iust budding, Crisp, then brittle the leaves became, In an instant crumbling to dust, Fell past gray sky to the ground. Diawing one last breath of life, the flowers, Iust lately sprung and standing, gave way to The force of harsh, violent gales, Fcrscking their color yet bright. Thus, all of lite had perished. I cast my glance into the stream 1'-Ind saw the waters rushing by I turned away in sad despair, For now t'was clear to me at once, That life was lost in time's swift course. ESTELLE COHEN
