And there yawned the gaping hole of infinity Salty demons crashed venomously Against the cngry rocks, ' Ar And huge black clouds grapplcd with each other Spitting and spewing their blackness. belching Und writhmg The boardwalks curved about and ran out To meet the sea deserted. The timber rotted and Bright flags and posters laded. An eerie whistle of music floated out- A carousel, the gaudy paradise Ol proud stallions leapt and danced And the hurdie gurdie tune urged them on. A lone figure-he clutched the horse's mane And grabbed for the brass ring and then Was flung dizzily around to try again, around and a ound Three rides for two bits. How many? Why for hours and hours and hou s The barke: sat transfixed For how many hours?-for eternity. And the rider swung around and around. The ring iust out of his grasp.
