UtZ'l'OBlfR lfootball season got into lull swing with games at Fairmont, Redwood Falls and Blue liarth, and with St. Alames on our gridiron. ln the big game of the season, the long-awaited Homecoming game, our opponent was St. Peter. At the dance, Queen Luverne Sauer reigned as alumni and students danced to the music of Blue tiordons orchestra. lhe lXl li,.X. conv ention at the end of the month provided a bit of a breather. Ntltlilxllilill November was Iilled with interesting and exciting activities, starting with a vic- torious football game at Springfield and with the debate squad going to St. Paul, lhe first senior high dance on Sadie llawkins Day was a real fun fest, The seniors worked like beavers and put on a successful play, lhe lwlad llattersf' Needless to say, we all enjoyed a 'lihanksgiving holiday of fun and food. l7litilitx1BliR No sooner had the lootball season ended than the basketball teams were out lor practice, We had home games with Nlinneapolis Southwest and lfairmont, and a bus load of fans followed the boys to St, -lames, lhe wrestlers too were busy, meeting the lXlankato team here. lhe style revue put on by the home economics girls was an interesting affair. lhe very line concert by the music department sent us on our vacation filled with a real Christmas spirit. ,l.'XNl HXRY lhe holidays passed all tooquickly, and shortly alter the New Year we were back in the groove once more, lhe gym team began to function and attended a meet at Madison, while the basketeers tangled with Waseca, llutchinson, Blue liarth, lfairmont, and Redwood Falls. kleanwhile the matmen grappled with lXlan- kato and Redwood lfalls, Our musicians also proved their ability by playing a pub- lic concert. -lanuary seemed so long, but it was surely heaped with events. l liBRl UXRY While athletic contests were entered by the basketball, gym and wrestling teams, our mental wi:ards, the seniors, also had a chance to prove their ability in the College A-Xptitude lests, Late in February we had an interesting demonstration by Otto Dallmann, a Iormer New Ulm resident, now a sculptor. lo enlighten us about rescue expeditions in the lfar North, George llsslinger gave a true-experience lecture. lhe Woodchoppers Brawl kept the hepcats yiumping, and the juniors chal- lenged the seniors' aeling ability in their play, Dear Ruth. lNlARtIl I livery week brought something new concerts by the St, ,lamcs band, our own band, and our orchestra and choir, lopping everything e'se in importance was the lact. that we defeated Redwood in the district tournament, lt was wonderful, At tilencoe, however, lirownton was our conqueror.
