'Rhinoceros' is probably the most difficult dra- matic piece New Trier West has ever presented. Most of us were worried about the audience being so totally confused by the end of the play that they would not care about what was actually being said. We hoped that people would not spend too much time trying to identify with the characters but with what they rep- resented. The results, however, were much better than any of the cast members and directors had anticipated. Both houses were packed - - filled with people inter- ested in hearing what Eugene lonesco had to say. People were not confused by the play's absurd natureg rather, they were stimulated to thought by the fine per- formances of their classmates. An aspect of theatre at NT-W that tends to be overlooked is technical production. The students and teachers who worked on the scenery for Flhinoceros' began this year's productions with highly polished sets I I 1 rhlnoceros that looked like more than 'pasteboard masks.' They helped give the play that added touch of professional- ism it so rightly deserved. The Waitress ........... . . . Christie Gunn . . . . Jo Ann Fisher . . . Janne Sheridan The Grocer's Wife . . .
