n. t. w. news Change was the keynote of this year's New Trier West News. Under the direction of Editor Sue Sachs and Sponsor Mrs. Yvonne Lanagan, the paper became bigger and better than ever. Reporters combed the school from the basement boiler room to the faculty penthouse in search of news and different story anglesg the resulting 16 issues spoke for themselves. Absent: Sara Welsh, photo scheduling editor. 76 Barb Venet, editor-in-chief Vestiges staff-the kids who ate food in their office during the day and printed photos into the darkest hours of the night. We once stayed at school 'till 12:30 a.m. working to meet a deadline, but everything started to look like double exposures after a while, so we went home. We've spent the past year working madly to compile the 208 pages that make up this year's Vestiges, West's third yearbook. Our staff of photographers took over 6,000 pic- tures, capturing the various moods that typify New Trier West. ln addition to this, the copy staff identified people in over 100 large group pictures and made an index of all the students. This year's unusual layouts were usually completed on days just before deadlines. Our fearless leader, Barb Venet, super- vised all the departments from her office, which was graced with a wall poster of the photographer of photographers--David Hem- mings. Mr. Currie contributed to the confusion in SM 132 by making us do all the work. He withstood the panics before the deadlines with remarkable tranquility. Maybe he wasn't really there at all, but was merely a figment of our imaginations who cried in his office while sipping his coffee.
