Stuart Milne, Tri-Ship head The best thing we've been able to do this year is get so many kids in- volved, observed Jane Schneider, co-head of Social Service for Girls' Club. We've approximately doubled the number of our participants. To achieve this involvement and diversify the program, three more social service projects were initiated: the Disaster Corps, comprised of stu- dents with Red Cross training who are available in any emergency, candy Qi, . striping at Cook County hospital, and tutoring at Foster school in Evanston. Each week seminars were held to discuss problems encountered. student tutors Student Tutoring is a service in demand. lt is work from which everyone can benefit. Tutees appreciate the different teaching approaches tutors offer and the more relaxed atmosphere. Ironi- cally, tutors often learned more than their tutees while reviewing material they had to teach. n. t. w. news Change was the keynote of this year's New Trier West News. Under the direction of Editor Sue Sachs and Sponsor Mrs. Yvonne Lanagan, the paper became bigger and better than ever. Reporters combed the school from the basement boiler room to the faculty penthouse in search of news and different story anglesg the resulting 16 issues spoke for themselves.
