Steve Brown, treasurer freshmen West got in on a pretty good bargain last Septem- ber. The deal: 650 members of the Class of '71 in ex- change for the price of a freshman class - a little friendly tolerance and assistance on the part of older students and teachers in helping frosh learn the intricacies of NT-W buildings f l had them all figured out by the end of first quarter l, systems f Those pinkfgreenfyellow slips! l, and people f All the things you can do . . . and there's so much freedom. J. The investment soon paid off. A steering com- mittee-sponsored Mixer was followed in mid-Novem- ber by a hectic election of class officers f So many kids ran for vice-president, we had to take seven ballots. l. The four elected officers, President Steve Abman, Vice-president Cindy Hunefeld, Secretary Lia Mc- Clendon, and Treasurer Steve Brown, helped lead the class through the year, that culminated this spring at the Freshman Class party. But the real climax for the class lies in the future - and in the mean- time West can continue collecting dividends from the Class of '71.
