What I've Known For Years After coming home from work at 10:30, I grabbed a bite to eat and sluggishly opened my English folder. I stared at the assign- ment: A Describe below what you have learned about yourself during your four years at New Trier. Dazed, I stared thinking about what to write . . . Four years ago, I often asked myself, Are my pants too short? Am I carrying too many books? I prayed thatl didn't actually look like a freshman. Everyone in the halls, even other freshmen, seemed older and more at home. Lunch was always hell. I spent half of the lunch period looking for my friends.
